Rockit For Kids took a big step when they played a gig at Red Bank, New Jersey’s Count Basie Theatre. A sound system can make a difference, a huge one. To be sure, the young musicians are improving wonderfully, but having Loretta Lynn’s gear, leftover from the night before, gave their sound a huge kick in the pants. Key songs included, “Highway Star,” “Paranoid,” and “Frankenstein.”
I used three lenses to shoot: 20/2.8mm, 35/2.0mm, and a rented 85/1.8mm. This was the first Rockit show with pro lighting.
