I hadn’t seen Dustin in more than two years. We met in Chelsea on a humid evening at the Yossi Milo Gallery on West 25th Street for the opening of Asako Naharashi’s “Half Awake and Half Asleep in the Water” exhibition. Naharashi began the project seven years ago, shooting coastal lines with a Nikonos 35mm waterproof camera. She composes images while in the water, her camera half submerged, working with the waves.
