We Are Merely Players

This is where it began for me. Like many music aficionados, getting close to the stage and capturing a slice of the live performance magic was a thrill. First there were a string of Yes concerts dating back to 1991 and eventually the vocation became part of a working career as staff photographer at Windup Records. Nine solid years thereafter included covering all of Rockit's incredible kids making it happen on stage. In recent years, it leans more into smaller jazz and classical shows.

Writer Roy Furchgott interviewed me for a New York Times article in 2011. While the approach and techniques have evolved through the years and the concerts are fewer, the connection up close through the lens is still a rush.
